David Danel (CZ)

David Danel studied violin at the Janáček Conservatory in Ostrava with Ladislav Gořula and at the Institute for Artistic Studies of the University of Ostrava with Zdeněk Gola. He has been awarded in several international competitions (the L. Beethoven International Violin Competition, the L. Janáček Violin Competition, and others). In addition to the classical repertoire, he also engages in experimental projects connecting various artistic disciplines and musical genres.

He is the artistic director of the contemporary music ensemble Prague Modern and the founder and first violinist of the fama Q string quartet, with which he regularly performs at festivals and concerts at home and abroad. In Slovakia, he often performs as a member of Miroslav Tóth’s Dystopic Requiem Quartet.

He records premieres of works by contemporary composers and is also active educator – he is a lecturer at VENI Academy and a teacher at the international summer courses of the Crescendo Summer Institute in Tokaj, Hungary.
