Territory Sound / At the Window is a workshop for emerging sound artists, computer music composers, and anyone interested in experimenting at the intersection of art and technology. It is intended for those curious about sound synthesis, spatial audio, open-source programming in SuperCollider, and collaborative artistic processes.

The workshop will include an introduction to the SuperCollider language, collaborative experimentation, and a focus on working with live audio signals from the square in front of the gallery. The workshop will culminate in a public sound presentation at the end of Saturday.

The event is part of the Čísliconástroje (Digital Instruments) series by ooo, which explores the relationship between digital technologies and artistic practice.

About the instructor:

Fero Király (1979) is an artist and educator. His work spans performance, sound art, sound installations, contemporary music interpretation, the development of custom audiovisual tools, and educational projects focused on music, multimedia, and creative coding. He often works at experimental and interdisciplinary boundaries, building his own digital instruments and collaborating across disciplines. Together with Eva Vozárová, he co-leads the ooo collective, which serves as a platform for their artistic activities, including the international festival JAMA.

In 2024, he contributed to the Slovak Pavilion at the 60th Venice Biennale by creating the sound and performance concept for Oto Hudec’s Floating Arboretum. He also premiered the audiovisual essay All You Can Eat (Király, Vozárová) and released the album How Much We Can Understand on NEXT Records. He teaches sound at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Bratislava.

The workshop will conclude with a public performance on Saturday afternoon.

Participants must bring their own laptop with SuperCollider installed (https://supercollider.github.io/) and personal headphones.

Previous experience with SuperCollider is helpful but not required.

The workshop takes place over two days at Medium Gallery in Bratislava.
Capacity is limited to 15 participants.
Minimum age: 18+
